A loan of $550 helped to buy sacks of fertilizer.

Elsa's story

Elsa is a very hardworking woman who is 30 years old and lives with her partner Nilton, who is also 30 years old and with whom she has 2 children, who are her adoration. They live together in their own house. She has been working in agriculture for 10 years. Her parents taught her this work and that is why now she and her husband are teaching all of the agricultural techniques to their children, who occasionally help them with small jobs in the field, cultivating coffee, plantains, and avocadoes. She enjoys very much the different kinds of work she does in the fields and when she needs to make her work go more quickly she hires workers. In this way she can rest assured, knowing that she will have good production.

Elsa is very prudent because she is convinced that a good harvest depends on being attentive. She considers her work in agriculture to be quite profitable, because it allows her to buy land, educate her children, and to cover a variety of daily expenses. For the future she plans to buy some more land that is productive and to plant a larger amount of coffee. This is the third time she has had a loan with MFP and she is sure to continue working hard like she has up to this point because she likes working with her communal bank. With the loan she will receive she will buy several sacks of fertilizer, which she will use on her coffee plants.
