Kapamba Group's story

Elizabeth M., age 35, is single with two children who are 13 and 16 years old. She has operated a beauty salon and a cafe for three years now. She works from 7 am to 10 pm daily and she is able to make a monthly profit of about $200.

This will be Elizabeth’s first motisha loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. A motisha loan is a product offered by Tujijenge Tanzania that allows borrowers with good credit ratings to pay back their original loans faster and receive extra money before their original loan term has end. She hopes for a new motisha loan to buy supplies for her salon and her café. Her dream is to buy a more hair dryers and steamers and continue widening her café to become international.

Elizabeth will share this loan with her loan group, Kapampa, which has seven members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable in paying back the loan.
