A loan helped to buy corn, chicks, vitamins, etc.

Roger Leonel's story

Roger Leonel is 47 years old and single. He has no children. He lives with his sister in Portoviejo. The city was struck by an earthquake on April 16, 2016 and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is an important producer of greens, vegetables and tropical fruit for internal consumption.

At his house Roger Leonel earns a living raising and selling chickens. He makes the most of having enough space on his patio where he has an enclosure. He raises the chickens for three months so they gain a good weight and size and he sells them live to merchants and neighbors. In his family he and a brother got sick with COVID-19 and they have recuperated. The quarantine at the beginning left him without work for fear of getting sick and the various restrictions that stopped him from going out to sell. He is now working following health protocols.

This loan will be used to buy corn, chicks, vitamins, etc. His dream is to have his own land to continue with his business and for his family to be healthy.
