A loan of $950 helped buying a variety of merchandise to expand his inventory and increase his sales.

Juan Antonio's story

Juan is 41 years old. He is an entrepreneur with a well-stocked grocery store, thanks to his intense efforts and the help of loans from Afodenic, which have been granted to him over a period of ten loan cycles. He was able to continue investing in his business thanks to his loans. When he began, he had very little capital, only what he had saved from selling fried food and his carpentry work, which was his profession years ago. His difficulties include power outages, since some of his products spoil quickly and this is a loss for him. He buys his products from wholesale suppliers so he can buy more cheaply and offer better prices to his customers. With this investment, he will buy basic foods, including ten quintals [100-pound sacks] of rice, ten quintals of sugar, four quintals of beans, and soft drinks. He will also buy more chicken and dairy products in order to increase his sales and continue satisfying his customers with his products.
