A loan helped to buy buffalo breeds for raising and selling.


Samran's story

Samran is a married woman living with her husband and children in a rural community of Surin province, the northeastern region of Thailand. Basically, she owns a small buffalo farm and her husband works as a driver to deliver students to a local school.

During this time, Samran needed a loan to buy more buffalo breeds for raising at her farm and selling to the local cattle market. She needed to increase her income for daily expenses and the education fee of her child. Then, she applied for the Kiva loan.

The loan will encourage her to buy buffaloes as well as to support a woman entrepreneur to have a job. In the future, Samran has planned to expand the buffalo farm comprising over 10 buffaloes.
