A loan of $175 helped to buy grocery goods to stock her shop.

Gayatri's story

Mrs. Gayatri D., 35 years old, resident of Kulashwor, Nepal, lives in a single (i.e., not extended) family with her husband Shyam D. and two sons whose ages are 3 and 1 respectively. Her older son is in pre-primary school.

Mr. and Mrs. D. opened a grocery shop a few years ago. They both work in their own shop, but due to the lack of business capital they can't expand their business. So in order to expand their business, Mrs. D. is requesting a loan of US$ 175. With this amount she will buy noodles, biscuits, rice, etc. for her shop. She is ready to pay back the loan on a monthly basis.
