A loan helped a member to buy farm inputs to have better harvests.

Alahkabo Group's story

Nanourougou is an exemplary farmer of Malian extraction. He is 39 years old and the father of five children, aged 3 to 15, including two sons and a daughter in school.

To do better at increasing his income and his harvests each planting season, he is asking for a loan from the microfinance institution to pay for more fertilizer, herbicides, and the cost of plowing to grow chili peppers and peanuts. He has been planting these crops for nine years now, and he buys items from the local fairs to resell at the same fairs, with projected profits of 30,000 to 75,000 francs CFA.

His profits will enable him to provide school supplies for his children. Due to COVID-19, he is representing the group by himself in the photo.
