05-Mariama Group's story

This group of women was created in July 2020. They live in the same village and keep up very strong ties of kinship and solidarity. Farming is their main work.

Ms. Mariama, the representative, is 52 years old. She is at the far right in the photo with a hand raised. A married mother of nine children, including two boys, Mariama intends to be active in farming.

With this new loan, she is going to purchase seeds and fertilizer for growing peanuts. After the harvest, she will sell her produce at the local market at good prices in hopes of obtaining better revenues. The earnings will serve to bolster her savings and to cover family expenses.
