A loan helped to purchase more bags to sell.

Fatu's story

Meet 46-year-old Fatu from Liberia. She is living together with her partner along with three children. All of her children are currently attending school while living at home.

Fatu deals in a business where she sells bags. She has been in this business for the past five years now and works 15 hours per day and 6 days a week. She has had no problem with her business.

Fatu requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more bags to sell. She says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family and to educate her children.

In the future, she wants to open a shop and build a house. She says thanks and appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
