A loan of $600 helped purchase raw material to make tamales.

Rosa Matilde's story

Rosa Matilde M. is 45 years old and lives with her family; her husband who works as a watchman, her 90-year-old mother, and her two children. They live in the urban area of San Francisco Gotera in the department of Usulután. Rosa makes "tamales", a typical dish from this country and the majority of Latinamerican countries, they are prepared with corn flour, filled with vegetables, chicken, or any other kind of meat, wrapped and cooked in banana leaves. The tamales are very popular and therefore sell well. She makes them every day of the week, making more on the week-ends as she sells more. Rosa requests a loan to be able to buy more products to make more tamales in order to increase sales as it is her wish to have the necessary money to make repairs at her home and thus have a safer place to live and take shelter from the rain.
