A loan helped helps a Chef purchase equipment for a commercial space after high customer demand!

Alexia's story

I am Alexia. I grew up in Greece, and from 8 years old I was in my aunt's restaurant making salads and washing dishes in the summer. I was so fascinated by it. In the winter I would watch cooking shows and replicate dishes. Serving and helping people brought me so much pleasure.

I moved to the US to pursue a degree from the Culinary Institute of America. Even though I worked at Michelin star restaurants, at the end of my shift, I would always eat Greek Street Food.

I wanted to open a restaurant so I attended FIU for Hospitality Management. By the age of 25, I was already an awarded Greek Chef in the US, involved in the community, however with the 2008 recession, I decided to move to Greece.

I opened a fine-dining concept, consequently, in one month, the recession hit us. I transformed the store to what Greeks needed, a place to feel great, with quality food at an affordable price, Greek Street Food, with the touch of a Chef.

Four locations later, I realized I needed to learn how to run multiple locations stress-free.
I returned to the US, worked for a Fast Food Chain leading me to manage 20 locations, and most importantly taught others how to meet their goals as well as improve their income.

Given my newly acquired skills, I tested 3 concepts virtually from a friend's restaurant giving emphasis to Vegan and Keto diets during COVID. Each week sales have increased by 50-100% and repeat customers spread the word. The first small food stall is leased inside a food hall and now in need of equipment. Ready to give single mothers the opportunity to be part of the business. My team and I are excited to start!
