A loan helped to invest in the purchase of fabrics, yarns, slides, synthetic material, etc.

Leopoldo Rafael's story

Leopoldo Rafael, age 55, is a micro-entrepreneur living in the city of Barranquilla with his partner.

His business is a shop making and selling garments. He got the idea after working for a long time in the sewing arts, and conducting training courses in this area. He decided to use his own savings to acquire his first sewing machines, with which he began his workshop making and selling clothing, producing reliably for his customers.

As time passed, the demand for his products and services permitted him to add more inventory and machines. Since then, his business has allowed him to offer his family a better quality of life. But due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic, his level of work declined due to bio-security issues and his income dropped drastically.

Therefore he requests his first Kiva loan with the Fundación Santo Domingo to invest in the purchase of fabrics, yarns, slides, synthetic material, etc. Support him in his business loan.
