Wakilare Group's story

The Wakilare solidarity group was created eleven years ago. It groups together seven women who are all from the same neighborhood. The solidarity group is part of the Banc Villageois in Gadapara, which lies in the town of Kolda.

Mrs. Fatoumata S., on the extreme right of the photo, is in charge of the solidarity group. She is 46 years old, married and mother to six children, who are all in her care.

She sells food products from home, such as rice, vegetable oil and condiments.

Her loan will allow her to buy a more significant quantity of goods in order to increase her profit margin.

Her goal is to to provide for her children's schooling and to contribute to food costs. She also helps her husband with the various other household expenses.
