A loan of $2,900 helped a member to purchase three sheep.

Sope Serigne Touba Group's story

The Sope Serigne TouB. solidarity group was established six months ago. It is made up of 24 women who come from the same village. These women have grown close from an early age and formed the group as friends or neighbors. The solidarity group is part of the Banc Villageois in Boffel.

Mrs. Fama S., who is standing at the right of the photo is in charge of the group. She is 48 years old and is mother to four children in her care; she also takes care of her granddaughter.

She has a sheep fattening activity and has been carrying out this business for around ten years.

Her new loan will allow her to buy three sheep and food for the livestock. She will fatten up the sheep for five months before selling them in the weekly markets in her town.

Her goal is to provide for her personal needs, to contribute to an improvement in her family's living conditions and to build up a healthy level of savings.
