Gladys Esther's story

Gladys Esther is a 72-year-old microentrepreneur. She is the mother of 3 children and a resident of the Tubara municipality, where she lives with her spouse.

Gladys has a home banquet business, a job that she started 5 years ago, where she rents chairs, tables, sound equipment, and food, among others. She also organizes events in the city. It is a business that she practices in collaboration with her spouse and one of her daughters, who carries out the accounting part of the business.

This commercial activity has allowed her to contribute to supporting the family. Currently, her potential customers are friends, neighbors, family members, and referrals.

However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that appeared at a global level, her work level deteriorated due to biosecurity issues and her income diminished drastically.

For this reason, she is requesting her first Kiva loan with the Fundación Santo Domingo with the objective of investing in adapting the business and purchasing more fixed assets, such as chairs and larger baking dishes, among others.

Support her with this loan for her business.
