Amina's story

Amina is a 26-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband in the Kumbungu district of Ghana. She operates a business weaving local fabrics (kente).

Amina is requesting a Kiva loan in order to purchase raw materials in bulk to weave more clothes to meet the demands of her customers. She plans to invest the profit she earns into her business and to support her daily needs.

To repay the social interest on her loan, she will volunteer two and half hours per week as CAMFED Peer Educator, leading life skills sessions for students in schools. She covers topics such as "my rights my choices," "choosing your career path," "active citizenship," etc.
