Lucia's story

Meet 42-year-old Lucia, from Liberia. She is a married mother with three children, all of whom are in school and live at home. Lucia attended school up to eighth grade. She is a strong businesswoman, who sells rice, oil, sugar, soap, etc. For 10 years, she has been operating her sales business. She started to sell with some earnings from her husband and learned how to sell by herself. She uses car to transport supplies to her business site and has no problem with her business.

She requested this loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva field partner, to purchase more rice, oil, sugar and soap to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it helps her a lot. In the future, Lucia wants to increase her business. She sends thanks and appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
