A loan helped to buy construction supplies for the renovation of her old house.

Srim's story

Srim is 45 years old. She is married and lives with her family in the area of Angkor Borey district, Takeo province. She earns a living by planting and harvesting rice crops and selling her harvest to the local markets.

Agriculture remains the most important sector of the Cambodian economy in terms of its share of the gross domestic product (GDP). It also employs the vast majority of the workforce. Rice is Cambodia's major crop, its principal food, and, in times of peace, its most important export commodity.

With her best effort, Srim can earn approximately 5 USD per day to pay for daily meals, clothes, medicine and other necessary things. At the moment, Srim's house is under construction and she needs more materials to finish it. She currently lacks a roof. Due to her tight finances, she requested a loan, which she will use to buy construction supplies for the renovation of her old house. With the loan, she can purchase construction supplies such as bricks and cement and also pay labor costs.

Srim hopes that through the help of the loan, she can provide everyone in her family with a suitable place to live and comfortable living conditions.

Srim aims to purchase more land for agricultural purposes. She wants to open a small grocery store to earn additional income. She sends her thanks to all lenders for helping her family.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to clean, renewable energy sources, like solar and biogas.
