N. Joan is 32 years old and lives in the town of Luwero in the Luwero region of Uganda. She is married and has three children, all of whom are in school. Joan has a business of running a retail shop, which she has had for four years.
To help expand her business, Joan is requesting a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more stock to sell. Joan hopes that the loan will help her by allowing her to increase her capital. In the future, Joan hopes to improve her family's life.
