A loan helped to purchase more soap, tissue, toothpaste, sugar, cassava flour, and other items to sell.

Jebbeh's story

Meet 32-year-old Jebbeh from Liberia. She is married and has children. Both of her children are currently attending school while living at home.

Jebbeh attended school up to the 5th grade. She runs a business that sells soap, tissue, toothpaste, sugar, cassava flour, and other items. She has been in this business for the past 6 years now and works 12 hours per day, 6 days a week.

Jebbeh requested this loan from Brac to purchase more soap, tissue, toothpaste, sugar, cassava flour, and other items to sell in order to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help improve their standard of living.

In the future she would like to buy land and get a good job. Jebbeh says thanks, and is grateful to Brac and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
