A loan of $1,425 helps to buy different types of spices and herbs to sell from home.

Aryam's story

Aryam is a Jordanian woman in her mid 30s. She is married and has five children. Her husband is in the military, and they both help each other in taking care of their family.

It was hard for Aryam to find a job. But she needed a way to gain some extra income as the salary her husband gets is not enough for the big family with the rising life expenses.

Also, she wanted to build something for herself that makes her feel independent and financially able, so she started a home-based business where she sells herbs and spices. The business has helped her a lot, and now she needs to support it with more herbs and spices. Aryam asked for a loan of 1,000 JOD to help her get all that is needed for the business, hoping that she can increase her profit. Aryam’s dream and plan is to buy a car and stay independent.

This loan is special because:

It empowers the most vulnerable and marginalized women in Jordan.
