Tanom's story

Tanom is a married woman living with her husband and daughters in a Khmer community in Surin province, the northeastern region of Thailand. To make a living, her family cultivates a jasmine rice farm, weaves silk cloth and raises beef cows.

Tanom has looked for a loan to invest in a beef cow farm that she has operated for more than 8 years. The occupation is capable of generating sufficient income to meet her family's spending. Then, she applied for the Kiva loan to purchase beef cow breeds and feed for raising and selling cows.
