A loan of $800 helped to buy chairs and tables for his restaurant and ingredients to prepare meals.

Carlos Romeo's story

Carlos is 54 years old, he is married and has a 6 year-old son, and they live in the Santa Elena community, located in the Usulután department. He owns a restaurant where he sells papusas (a traditional Salvadoran dish made of thick, hand-made corn tortilla filled with a blend of either cheese, vegetables or meat).
He was able to open the restaurant thanks to wife’s help, as she has always engaged in selling papusas. He manages the restaurant and has two employees helping him with the various activities; working hours are from 6 am to 6 pm. As he cannot count on much money right now, he is requesting a loan to buy chairs and tables for the restaurant, thus better tending to his customers; he will also buy ingredients to prepare food. This will contribute to the growth of his activity and to the improvement of the family income.
He wishes to widen the space of his restaurant and to create the conditions to improve the living conditions of his family.
