Bolivia
La Paz, Bolivia / Grocery Store

A loan of $1,200 helped buying merchandise such as candy, soft drinks, fruits and vegetables.

Virginia Leandra's story

Virginia has been a client since 2000; she is a very responsible and dependable person. She began working with a solidarity group of three people; later, the group dissolved and requested individual loans. Virginia has used her loans to increase her stock of merchandise. This is reflected in her business, which is well-stocked with a range of products. Thanks to its location, it receives a lot of traffic, since it is a store on the access road to two areas, Coqueni and Santa Fé. Virginia lives with her husband and her daughters. One of her daughters is married, and Virginia sometimes takes care of her granddaughter. The other daughter is a student. With the funds from the loan, Virginia will buy fruits, vegetables, cookies, crackers, soft drinks, candy and other assorted grocery items. She is very grateful to Emprender and Kiva for the confidence placed in her in granting the loan.
