Gloria Ines's story

Gloria Castellón (seen dressed in pink in the photograph, and appearing with her loan advisor) is a hard working woman who lives in the city of Cartagena, along with her husband and 28 year old son who attends school. She runs a business where she offers beauty services to ladies, gentlemen, and children.

Gloria started when she was very young and learned the beauty business. She started working from her home, but gradually she built up her infrastructure and also began selling beauty products. Among her services are manicures, pedicures, haircuts, styling, and coloring. She uses the best techniques and experience, so her customers in her neighborhood of San Fernando, and the surrounding neighborhoods, wait for her and constantly seek her.

This will be her second loan through “Fundación Mario Santo Domingo,” which has supported her and made it possible for her to realize the improvements that she now exhibits in her service. Her place also provides improved revenue, the product of her hard work, and she can afford to help her parents and sister. Her sister is disabled.

She will use the money from this Kiva loan to buy hair and face treatment supplies, and also to improve her home to give her workspace a better image. She hopes continue growing the business and improve her and her family’s lot in life, alongside her husband and her only son.
