A loan helped a member to buy pagnes wholesale.

Hekima Ni Mali Group's story

Cecile is a customer of the MFI Hekima and the leader of the 'Hekima Ni Mali' village group. She is 35 years old, married, and the mother of 4 children who all attend school. Her husband is unemployed.

She sells pagnes (colourful and decorative West African cloth), a business she started 13 years ago with start-up funds she received from Hekima's loan program, and she has been progressing steadily since.

She will use this new loan to buy pagnes wholesale. Her main business challenge is that there is no place nearby where she can get new supplies.

She would like to see her children continue with their education and to grow her business.

Finally, she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they are giving to the owners of non-bankable business during this pandemic.

Note: only the group leader is pictured due to social distancing measures.
