A loan helped a member to buy more rice, cooking oil, flour and beans with her portion.

Ihirwe Tcb Group's story

Judith is a 39-year-old widowed mother of three children who are aged between 6 and 19 years old. For the past 7 years, she has owned a grocery store.

Judith is the leader of the group called Ihirwe Tcb, which in English means “the choice". Group members sell different items and own a variety of businesses. Due to the global pandemic, Urwego was not able to get a photograph of all the group members, but was able to photograph one representative.

Judith will use her portion of the loan to buy more rice, cooking oil, flour and beans to sell within her community and meet customer demand. With the profits from her sales, she hopes to be able to pay school fees for her children.

She is thankful for your support.
