A loan helped to buy feed and beef cow breeds for raising and sale.

Pan's story

Pan lives with her children in a Kuy community of Surin province, one of the lowest-income per capita of Northeast Thailand. Her family makes their living by cultivating a rice farm and raising beef cows.

Pan has more than 16 years of experience in raising cows, and the occupation can generate sufficient income for her family's spending needs. During this period, she has looked for an opportunity to expand the business. Pan applied for a Kiva loan to buy more beef cow breeds for raising and sale. She plans to allocate some amount of the loan to fix the cattle pen as well.

The loan will allow her to afford the good quality cow breeds and encourage local women into enterprise. In the future, Pan dreams of producing beef cow breeds for selling to increase her income even more.

This loan is special because:

It helps women living in rural areas improve financial literacy and invest in their businesses.
