A loan of $800 helped purchase a welding iron and gas supplied.

Alonso Rodrigo's story

Alonso, 45, lives in the Perimetral de Guayaquil (a semi-urban zone surrounded by a salty marsh). He has a metal workshop and is a master lock-smith, learning the trade when he was little when his father taught him so he could earn his own income. When Alonso began being a locksmith he had to work very hard to be able to have a workshop in his house. Little by little he purchased the materials and machines, and now he has a workshop at the front of his house. He works from 8.30 in the morning until 5pm. Alonso has 3 older children who help him in his workshop. With this loan he wants to purchase a soldering iron and gas supplies. In the future he wants to expand his workshop and finish building his home.
