A loan of $1,000 helped to buy seafood (fish, etc.).

Houndjiho's story

Born in 1967, Houndjiho A. has been living for about 15 years in the Dégakon neighborhood in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. She's married to Jérémie HOUESSOU ABO and the mother of three school-attending children. The couple has another child to support. Houndjiho lives together with her children and husband in Dégakon. The couple jointly provides for the family.

Houndjiho never attended school. To provide for herself, she sells seafood (fresh fish, etc.) at the Cotonou fishing port, where she also purchases her supplies. She's been running this business for about 15 years, and already benefited from five loans from Kiva's partner, ALIDé, which were all repaid without problems. In order to bolster her business and increase her stock of seafood, Houndjiho is seeking a new loan from ALIDé.
