Thanh Yen 41 Group's story

Meet 49-year-old Lan, a Thai ethic woman who has lived with her husband, a daughter and a grandchild in a Thai traditional stilt house in a remote area of Vietnam. Her daughter is an adult and working near home.

Like others people in her village, Lan and her husband spend most of their time farming to earn a living with several activities such as growing rice, raising buffalo and chickens. Due to living in a remote area, Lan's family faces so many difficulties including access to capital, technical agricultural skills and a chance to develop social awareness.

Since knowing of the Anh Chi Em program, this difficulty has been resolved, ACE comes to her village to take loan applications and also supports non-financial services in which agricultural technical areas. With the desire to continue to expand the breeding model to get more income, Lan decided to take an eleventh loan from Anh Chi Em. This time the loan will be use to buy chicks and food for them. Lan hopes that the expansion will be successful and create more benefit for her family. Of the interest from selling chickens, she will keep a part to save and continue to invest in chicken raising.
