A loan of $800 helped a display case, rice, and dairy products.

Amparo Colombia's story

Amparo, 38, lives in Fortín de Guayaquil (on the outskirts of the city where the avenues and streets are unpaved and it’s necessary to climb hills to get to the houses). She has had a general store for the past 8 years.

From some time ago she started to work in her own store not only to be independent, but also to cover the expenses of her two children since her husband separated from her. With efforts and dedication she has supplied her store and she works from 6 am until sunset.

With the loan she will buy a display case, rice and dairy products for her store. In the future she would like to have another business like a restaurant.
