A loan helped a member to buy a portable solar irrigation system.

Sekelo's Group's story

Sekelo is a young man, aged 25 years old and married with two children (aged 1 and 3 years old). He is the leader of Chitukuko Group, and in the picture above, he is wearing a sky blue shirt with his hand raised.

Sekelo has been a rice farmer for six years and he is proud to be in this business, since rice is both a cash crop and a food crop. This new loan will help him to buy a portable solar irrigation system, which is comprised of a shallow well, solar pump, and solar panels. His aim is to harvest rice three times per year, which will help him to be a reliable farmer in his community.

The profits from the sales will help Sekelo to support his family's basic needs. The other profits will be used to purchase other inputs required on the farm, such as fertilizers.
