A loan helped to purchase the ACE 1 hybrid energy system for cooking, lighting and charging in a way that is safer, cleaner and saves money.

Malimpho's story

Malimpho is a 38-year-old woman who lives in a one-bedroom house without access to electricity with four children. Malimpho works as a civil servant but struggles with buying multiple fuels. She spends most of her energy expenses on paraffin and gas, which costs up to 274 Lesotho maloti per month. She also spends as much as one hour per day gathering fuel and fulfilling other energy needs like phone charging.

Malimpho bought the ACE 1 cookstove to help her and her family save the money spent every month on fuel and also help them access solar electricity for charging their mobile devices any time for free. The ACE 1 clean cookstove is biomass- and solar-powered. For more information on the ACE1 cookstove please visit www.africancleanenergy.com and Facebook @African Clean Energy.
