A loan of $375 helped to buy seed and manure for the next planting cycle.

Teofila's story

Teófila, 64, is married and lives in her own home with her three children. She has been a farmer for 21 years. Her main crops are potatoes and corn. Her fields are located in the area where she was born in her locality’s rural zone.

Customarily she visits her fields mostly during planting and harvesting times. She herself sells her crops at wholesale in the local market where her profits are satisfactory and which permit her to gradually increase her investment in the next planting.

Because she is now of an age that does not permit her to continue with this kind of work, her children now work more often and see to the fields.
However, Teófila works tirelessly to find good buyers for her crops and this is why she will continue to work in farming.

This is her 7th loan with MFP. She is very happy to know that she can count on financial support because she has always been responsible with her repayments. In addition, she enjoys being part of a communal group because all its members are responsible, very united people. She is grateful to all those who will fund the loan she is requesting that will be very useful for her business.

She will use the requested funds to buy seed and manure for the next planting cycle.
