A loan of $800 helped to purchase seeds so she can increase her crop production.

Olga Rebeca's story

Olga Rebeca R. P. is 57 years old. She is divorced and lives alone in Ventanas, a province in Los Ríos. She has 4 children: Rocio, Eduardo, Alberto and Jina.

Olga is a member of the “Y” rural bank, which is located an hour and a half from Ventanas. There are 17 members in total who, for the most part, work in agriculture. This is the first loan they are taking with Cooperativa San José.

Olga dedicates herself to farming, such as the planting of oranges, yucca, coffee and corn. She makes her purchases at harvest time in Guayaquil and Babahoyo, and sells her products in the same cities and in neighboring areas.

She is requesting this loan to invest in the purchase of seeds, so she can increase her production. She believes the loan is an opportunity to get ahead. Her dream is to be able to travel to Italy to meet her relatives. She faces challenges related to lack of funds.

She likes to travel, and to go on trips with the family.
