A loan of $800 helped purchase banana, cocoa, coffee and maize to sow/grow.

Argentina Piedad's story

Argentina Piedad S. V. is 73 years old and lives with her sons in the Ventanas province in Los Ríos. She has 6 children: German (45), Luis (60), Gloria (56), Maricela (45) Nancy (40) and Gabriel (50).

Argentina is a member of the communal bank 'Y', which is located 1 1/2 hours from Ventanas. There are 17 members in total and the majority work in agriculture. This is the first loan that they are seeking from Cooperativa San José.

Argentina works in agriculture, cultivating bananas, cocoa, coffee and maize. She makes her monthly purchases in Echeandia and sells in the same locations and surrounds.

She is seeking a loan to invest in the purchase of bananas, cocoa, coffee and maize to sow and sell. She thinks that this loan is an opportunity to improve their situation. Her dreams are to have her own business and increase her earnings. Preventing her from realising her goals is the lack of money and the plagues and diseases that affect the crops.

Argentina likes to work in the countryside and spend time with her family.
