Fabiana's story

Fabiana was born and lives within the city of Ollantaytambo. Most of Ollantaytambo’s inhabitants work in the tourist industry and those living in the surrounding area work in agriculture; farming and raising livestock.

Three years ago Fabiana opened a grocery store along the city’s main street, where she sells food such as rice, sugar, noodles, cooking oil, milk, soft drinks, etc. She is married to Fredy and they are blessed with three children. One can find her at her store, which is stocked with regular merchandise, seven days a week from 5:00 am until well into the night. Fabiana presents an air of friendship and happiness. She has a regular flow of customers who visit her store and it motivates her every day.

Fabiana is hoping to receive a $1,000 loan. For the time being the store is modestly stocked with the basic items, but she would like to use the money from this loan to buy more merchandise, such as rice, noodles, tuna, etc. She is a very entrepreneurial, responsible, and punctual woman, so her friends invited her to participate in the “La Amistad de Ollantaytambo” (Friend of Ollantaytambo) communal bank of the “Asociación Arariwa.”
