Norma Patricia's story

Norma Patricia E. A. is 36 years old and a single mother of 2 children, Alejandro and Estefania. They live in Ventanas, in the province of Los Rois. Norma is a member of a communal bank located an hour and a half from Ventanas. There are 17 members in total, the majority of them working in agriculture. This is the first loan that they will be taking with Cooperativa San Jose.



Norma works selling clothing and shoes from a shop in her house. She purchases her inventory every month in the city of Guayaquil and Quito, and she sells her merchandise from her house or door to door. She is requesting this loan to purchase more clothing and shoes to grow her busines. She feels this loan is a chance to improve the quality of her life. Her dream is to be able to purchase her own home from where she can grow her business. She faces challenges from the competition in her area. Norma would like to be able to travel, and one day leave Ecuador.
