Emelyn's story

Emelyn J. is from the town of Banga. She is 33 years old and is married with three school-aged children.

Emelyn owns and operates a business raising pigs for fattening and sale and also helps her husband plant and harvest corn on their farm. She sells their harvest to their town's market.

Emelyn joined CEVI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and her ability to engage in business activities. She is requesting a loan of 6,000 PHP which will be used to purchase pig feed and farm supplies. This loan will be her first from CEVI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve the general living conditions of her family.
