Claire's story

Claire is 41 years old and married. Her couple has three boys and two girls, aged between 16 and 4 years old. The family lives in an isolated village in the countryside. Claire and her partner sell furniture and also traditional mattresses. The mattresses are made with dry grass for the stuffing and synthetic raffia for the blanket. These mattresses are still very popular with people. The couple also practice agriculture and farming. Claire wants to develop the couple's businesses. With the husband's agreement, she began to take out loans in order to strengthen her capital. The money from the loans allows them to gradually expand their businesses. She used the previous loan to buy and sell furniture. She acquired a cow with her profits. This loan is necessary for her to buy 200 meters of synthetic raffia for the manufacture of mattresses. She hopes for the support of lenders and plans to build a house in the city, which she would rent out.
