Bokk Kogne Group's story

The solidarity group BOKK KOGNE was created after the inauguration of the NEMA 2 Banc Villageois where it is based. It is composed of 6 women who all come from the same neighborhood. They are organized by neighborhood and kinship. These women are very motivated and have developed a strong spirit of solidarity amongst themselves. Mrs. Caroline K. at the right in the photo is the leader of the group. She is 53 years old, married and the mother of four children. She operates a small business in seasonal fruits and has run this business for more than a decade. She buys oranges and mangos in the surrounding villages to sell in Ziguinchor and Dakar. Her goal is to increase her income, to provide for her personal needs and to contribute to the well-being of her family.
