A loan of $2,125 helped a member purchasing traditional fabrics.

Mbomane Group's story

The Mbobane solidarity group has been formed since the creation of the Banc Villageois nine years ago. It belongs to the Banc Villageois of Nema 2. The group is composed of six women who live in the same district of Tilene in Ziguinchor. They are friends and neighbors who decided to form a group.

Mrs. Marcelle K., on the right on the photo, is 54 years old. She is married and is the mother of seven children and has five grandchildren in her care. She has had loans from Caurie-Mircofinance 19 times. She sells traditional colorful fabrics (wax, khartoume, pagnes). She knows this business well, having been doing it for five years. Her new loan will allow her to stock up an ample quantity of fabrics and to increase her revenues. Her goal is to grow her business to improve her level of savings.
