Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Jose Abraham's story

José, 63, is married and has seven children, four boys and three girls. Five of them no longer depend on him.

With his wife he has set up a fried potato and atol de arroz (a drink made with rice and sugar) business in their location. They are open for business every evening. During the day he works as a bricklayer. Together they have succeeded in raising their family.

He is asking for his 2nd loan to increase his working capital. He repaid his previous loan on time.
