Fatmata's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone!

This is 30-year-old Fatmata from Aberdeen branch. She is married with two children between the ages of 12 and 14 years old. Both of them are attending school. She started this business to care for herself and support her family.

Fatmata runs a retail business where she sells fast food and other assorted items. She has been in this business for 4 years now. Her other source of income is her husband’s business. Her main challenge is occasional slow sales, particularly during this COVID 19 pandemic.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase foodstuffs; flour, milk, sugar, rice, pepper, fish, and other assorted items to increase her business. Fatmata says that the extra income from this loan will help her improve her business and take care of her family's welfare. In the future, she would like to grow her business to a larger scale.

She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
