A loan of $4,250 helped a member buy fish products.

Jerusalem Group's story

The Jerusalem solidarity group was formed three years ago. It is made up of 12 women, all active in the Association of Catholic Woman of Louga parish. They all belong to the same church community and are actively engaged in parish affairs.

Mme Eliane N., standing at the right of the photo, is the group's leader. She is 51, a widow with three children, and cares for eight neighbor children. She has a small business selling fish, citrus, and palm oil. Her loan will allow her to buy more stock and to grow her business. Her profit will enable her to pay for her children's nutritional and health needs.

In this group: Eliane, Sabadou, Marie, Marie Sona, Eglasse Maty, Helene, Aminata, Jeanne Helene, Therese Daniel, Olga, Rosine*, Marie Therese Leonie, Francoise
