A loan helped to purchase charcoal and other assorted items to increase her business.

Victoria's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 32-year-old Victoria from Wilberforce branch. She is married and has two children between the ages of 10 and 16 years old, and all of them are attending school.

Victoria runs a retail business and sells charcoal and other assorted items. She has been in this business for eight years now. Her other source of income comes from her husband’s business. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID-19 pandemic. She started her business to care for herself and support her family.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase charcoal and other assorted items to increase her business. Victoria says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family's welfare. In the future, she would like to establish into a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC Sierra Leone and Kiva for their support.
