A loan of $2,725 helps to build their new house.

Liu's story

Liu and her husband, who is a baker, have five children now. They live in a little iron hut. She is a weaver, and she only weaves taovala (an article of Tongan dress), using white pandanus. Liu sells her taovala at the local market and also to some of her customers overseas. She weaves together with her sisters, and it helps a lot with her weaving speed. They weave together and it buys time to finish weaving faster and weave another one. For years they have dreamed of better living conditions for their children to grow up in, and now their prayer has been answered. They have a new house which is currently in the building process, and Liu is taking a loan to help with the construction. To provide the best she can for her children is her only dream.
