A loan helped to buy pandanus for her weaving business.

Fifita's story

This is Fifita. She is 35 years old a mother of six children. Her husband is a farmer and they live in their own home on the island of Vava'u.

Fifita is a weaver and has been weaving since she got married. She weaves taovala and mats and sells them to the mainland of Tonga or to some of her relatives overseas.

Sometimes Fifita joins a group of women for weaving and sometimes she weaves on her own at home. She is hoping to buy pandanus for her weaving business. Her dream is to build a secure financial future for her children through her weaving talent.
