'Ala's story

Meet 'Ala. She is 61 years old, married and she has six children. Currently she runs a tapa making business, and she has been running this business for more than 30 years. Her family benefits from her work. She may not be well-educated but she has a talent that can earn money for her family without failing.

She and some other women in the village perform the tapa making, and 'Ala sells the work of her hand at the market and some overseas. Her business alone repays back her loan. Sometimes, she also prepares some soft tapas and sell them to earn extra income for her family.

This loan is to purchase sufficient mulberry for her business so that she can be able to make more tapas.
